About photos for your portraitWhen sending digital pictures or images for your protrait. The simple fact is, the better, sharper, and more clear the source image, the more detail can be put into the portrait. Use the largest quality setting on your digital camera. Use a single source of light if possible. (Without a flash) Use a zoom, if possible. Wide angle lenses will have distortion. Anything from 60mm to 80mm is prefered for portraits to insure none of the facial features are distorted. However I will work from what ever you have. Photos can be sent by email or by mail. Thank you for taking the time to read these guidelines. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Although high quality photographs come close, there is still a difference between using a photograph as a source for the portrait and working from life. My goal is to make your portrait look like it was painted or drawn from life as much as possible, through my knowledge of art.
